AC Milan suffered a terrible defeat to Parma last night as nothing went according to plan. Since the final whistle, there has been great criticism for the Rossoneri and Yunus Musah admitted that there was confusion on the pitch.
Milan conceded the first goal of the game with less than two minutes on the clock, immediately putting themselves in a bad situation. They failed to respond as Parma took control of the game and dominated the Rossoneri for large parts of it.
After the clash, which finished 2-1, Yunus Musah spoke to DAZN (via MilanNews) and admitted that he didn’t always know what to do on the pitch. Obviously, this is a huge warning sign and one has to question Fonseca, who needs to be very clear with his players.
“Sometimes I was in doubt whether to press or stay back. Then, I was a bit more aggressive and let the central defenders take on those behind me. After that, we managed to be more aggressive and recover more balls,” he stated.
The best teams, and even mid-table ones as we saw with Parma last night, know exactly what to do in every situation but that certainly hasn’t been the case for Milan. Instead, they have been incredibly disjointed and this has allowed the opponents to capitalise on acres of space.
