AC Milan are going to be without Christian Pulisic against Juventus, but an American will start on the right nevertheless.
In his press conference earlier today, Sergio Conceicao spoke very clearly about Christian Pulisic’s condition, stating that the winger would not play, rather than attempting a bluff. The winger has been struggling and only returned to training today, so he deemed it was not worth the risk.
For this reason, Alex Jimenez was expected to lead the side forward on the right, given he has often been deployed in a more advanced position recently, but it seems that Conceicao has a different plan in mind for the Juventus clash.
Instead of Jimenez, it will be Yunus Musah, as Sky (via Milan News) suggests, who has been quite hit and miss this season, and considering how he is not as ‘attacking’ as Jimenez, it is certainly a decision that can be scrutinised.
Through the season, the American has often been described as the ‘defensive’ option for the right-hand side, and with Weston McKennie set to start at left-back for the Bianconeri, it would be imagined that the Rossoneri target that position.
The decision was made after today’s training session at Milanello, so Musah must take his chance to prove himself, especially with Samuel Chukwueze returning shortly.
I like when Musah comes on rather than start. He tends to confuse the other team with his movements when he’s given the instructions to do so. The problem is him having to help our right back which takes away from that aspect of the game
So once again, we’ll be sacrificing our right side attack so that Musah can hold Royals hand again while he continues his run as the leagues worst RB…
I think this makes quite a bit of sense. McKennie is not a typical LB, gets forward a lot, may show up in midfield going forward, not an easy defensive assignment. Musah vs. McKennie both played out of position will be fun for the Americans watching.
Playing all available midfielders at once while Reijnders and Fofana are exhausted… Bit risky.
that speak a lot about how unreliable whoever play as RB at this game will be.
It’s the right move, Jimenez was poor last match.
Basically Musah is supposed to baby sit Emerson at RB. He isn’t much of a winger.
I agree, he is not much of a winger, but neither is Jimenez from what I’ve seen. If Musah could only see the field and release the ball before he runs out of options he would be a fine player. Who else in ACM’s midfield picks the ball up and turns or is already facing forward to advance the ball? Again, the problem is he holds on to the ball too much.
The 4-2-3-1 is the best line up
M.maignan
Calabria, Gabbia, Thiaw, Hernandez
Reijnder, Fofana
Musah,benercer,leao
Morata
(T.abraham)
Or the 4-4-2 this line up is where Acmilan get results we are flexible or good for the 4-3-3.
We’re are not flexible at all for the 4-3-3 because all time we play it we lose we fail to win.
