AC Milan head coach Paulo Fonseca has tried a rather interesting starting line-up in training ahead of the game against Empoli, a report claims.

According to the latest from Sky, Fonseca used his final training session before the game against the side from Tuscany to try a rather interesting attack in the 4-2-3-1 system that we have become accustomed to.

Alvaro Morata was the one leading the line – who is back after serving a suspension in midweek – with Rafael Leao on the left wing. Nothing too strange thus far, but the source claim Yunus Musah was used on the right with Christian Pulisic the attacking midfielder.

Youssouf Fofana and Tijjani Reijnders were the central midfield pairing, then Emerson Royal, Matteo Gabbia, Malick Thiaw and Theo Hernandez were the back four.

Tested Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Emerson Roayal, Thiaw, Gabbia, Theo Hernandez; Fofana, Reijnders; Musah, Pulisic, Leao; Morata.

During his pre-match press conference, Fonseca was asked about the possibility of their being some surprises in the line-up and he certainly suggested that there could be.

“I can’t say anything, but in an hour you’ll know which team will play. It’s not me who’s talking. Something dramatic? Maybe (laughs). Maybe there’s something different,” was his response.

  1. Urgh. Here goes another uphill battle for points.
I was willing to give the guy a chance but all he does is stupid shìt after stupid shít.

    1. if he’s doing it, then it will only be like this on paper. 10 mins into the game Puli will move right, Musah more central and Reijnders more offensively. Then we have the 4-3-3 everyone wants. or does anyone actually think, he will field Musah just for defending duties? against Empoli? at home? a pretty good tactical move actually to lower everyones expectations.

      1. Yeah that definitely isn’t going to happen..
It’s gonna he then juve game all over again..

Proof a) Empoli always scores in away games. In fact they’re better away than at home.

        B) they have a better defense than us somehow.

Musah is definitely meant to help le royal

  2. Yeah…whatever, Fonseca just repeat the formula against Madrid.

But, next game he will change it again. That’s why this team is not ‘firm’.

    Yeah…………..we’ll see. Good luck Fonseca

    1. I don’t even know why he always like to change formation like cloths ? The man is a big clown !!. Don’t still know why he can’t just stick to the one that pay off.. baba were coach 😏

  3. To all the guys making negative comments, you’re stuck at home being crappy and thinking you can do better.
He’s making millions toying with your feelings.
