This season, Yunus Musah has not been a regular for Atalanta, but that could well change now for the American. Indeed, there is a chance that the AC Milan loanee becomes one of the starters.
It is fair to say that since he has moved to Italy, Musah has not had the best start to life. With Milan, he was never a starter, and he never had a solid position within the team. Nevertheless, this is not necessarily a bad thing.

He is still young enough to pick up the pieces elsewhere, and with Atalanta, that was the hope. However, this season has been a continuation of his issues, rather than a solution, really.
Changing fortunes?
As Calciomercato.com write, this season, he has been Atalanta’s least used player this season, with only 723 minutes played, with only three starts. Yet, this has never changed his attitude, and last weekend he bagged a first goal in four years.
He followed it up with another important one in midweek, a goal in the Coppa Italia against Lazio, where the Nerazzurri have high hopes of progression.
It now opens the question of his future. The Begamese outfit paid €4.5 million to have him on loan this season, and it seemed that the €20m buy clause would not be touched. Yet, this is now potentially not the case anymore. Indeed, the topic of him staying permanently is being discussed.
A discount may be sought, and considering that he is not a part of the plans at Milanello, it may be granted.

Musah is still very young. If you can’t get good price- send him on a loan.

Supporter to potential starter?? Come on now. Musah has been benched for most of the season and has only picked up sporadic minutes here and there. He’s not a key player for Atalanta. Two goals aren’t going to change that, unless he goes on an insane run somehow. He’s been on the bench and unused for the last 6 or 7 games prior to these here goals. It’s too simplistic to read a stat like that and make those assertions

How are people overlooking that a player’s value will increase if they play and play well? Yes, all of these player’s values have gone up. It’s normal. As you play (and play in better teams and better leagues) your value goes up. Tonali would never have reached 100M if he’d stayed at Milan. It’s just not possible for a player in Serie A these days unless they’re an attacker scoring 30 goals per season. This would be like Dortmund kicking themselves for selling Haaland for 60M when he’s now worth 200M, which would be absurd.
Don’t forget Thiaw and Jimenez. Also Dollarumma, Kessie, Calha, Romagnoli we got less than a peanut.
