Napoli 2-1 AC Milan: Follow the action with our live commentary

AC Milan are up against Napoli this evening and by all accounts, it will be an exciting clash at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Join us for the live commentary of the action.

Milan need to clinch all three points tonight and thus extend their winning run to three games. Failing to do so would make things very difficult from a Champions League point of view, following wins for Fiorentina, Juventus and Roma earlier today.

Sergio Conceicao has made a few changes to the starting XI, most notably benching Rafael Leao, and Strahinja Pavlovic is also back from the first minute. Either way, it should be an interesting clash as pressure is also on Napoli to perform.

You can find our live commentary for the game below. Unfortunately, there will be no watchalong tonight as Lorenzo and Stefano are both out. The two will be back soon, though, and hopefully they will be beaming from an important win.

  1. When you have Bondoo in start, It’s always fun to watch. haha 😉 worse than mussah
This is not the same Milan

    1. Yeah, it has been party all season with him. The best one was in the UCL when he REALLY showed his intelligence – and worth.

  2. Watching this game akin to many other games this season evokes a memory of my first visit to a dentist – excruciating pain !

  3. Fofana and Bondo are not shielding the defence. The partnership between Gabnia and Palovic are too sluggish.

Felix as expected the game swallow him up.

  4. Is Milan owing these players their wages? Bcos i can imagine them representing us like this..so so painful watching my milan playing this kind of horrible football.

    1. For some, the draw at home against a wounded Juventus was a superb result, right? 😀 Too scared to even try and attack. This is Milan. LOL.

  5. I cannot watch Milan play without feeling distraught and downtrodden. Conceicao has no plan, no ideas and has seemingly lost all control over the team. I never imagined that it could get worse than Fonseca’s Milan, but here we are 🙂

    1. I don’ think he has the players anymore – they are all out to pasture. No one is playing for him or even the shirt.

  6. Should’ve just stayed with Fonseca till summer. I won’t mind seeing him leave after this match, we can get an interim manager until we get a sporting director confirmed.

  7. That’s embarrassing, if that’s even possible.

    1. Our defending is an actual joke under Conceicao. literally, if you watch the positioning of defenders you can’t help but laugh that professional defenders mark that poorly.

    2. Football under Conceicao so far: dig a hole in the first half, try to climb out of it the second half.

    3. Yet Conte with an inferior team is second in the standings running in circles around this Milan…

Well done, management. Fonseca and Conceicao were brilliant decisions thus far, weren’t they?

  8. FACT: This lineup is certainly NOT a winning one. It begs the question what Conceciao set out to achieve in this game. I’ve made several excuses for him, but this time, he takes all the blame. It doesn’t matter if he didn’t choose the team he needs to MAKE IT WORK. He needs to grind it out with whatever is available.

    IN OTHER NEWS
I talked about how dreadful Bondo was in his First start, and people here wanted my head for it. Some said Bondo was covering for Musah, and that’s why he got carded. The lad can’t even keeps hands to himself when going in for a tackle.

  9. I sooooooooooo want to stop watching and go to bed but I guess I’m too much of a masochist to do that. I’ll give them 5-10mins to show ANY improvement. Not counting on it though…

  10. Conte was supposed to be the Milan coach this season, but our management and fans are too sentimental that they cannot have a Juventini in charge of the locker room.

  11. Leao on for bondo… What could go wrong? One “defensive” midfielder… Because we did so well with two… Madness.

  12. Someone watching this game without knowing who the teams were, say with neutral kits (all white v all black) would never believe this is AC Milan. More like Monza or Parma? I mean, what’s different? Mediocre goalkeeper, fragile defense, dominated midfield, uncreative offense, incompetent coach, amateur management… we look like bottom feeders rather than the once proud AC Milan.

  13. this milan team is a compleat disaster oh gosh what has redbird done in these 2 years and the worst part is that we could have gotten conte but they went for fonseca and that went terribly and as we thought it couldn’t get any worse this has actually happen sergio should get sacked next season imo

  14. Now we’re taking away penalties from puli again? Conceicao has somehow made this team worse from when fonseca was in charge.

  15. I’ll defend gimenez this one time because when you come into a club that looks like this your going to play like them too. No player looks interested and conceicao clearly ain’t a top coach that everybody thought he could be

  16. League season is done folks. We’re going to finish midtable. We are the Napoli of least season, except we’re not coming off a title win. Last hope for Europe is the Coppa Italia.

  17. When Pavlovic is not only our best defender, but best attacker, at what point do you fire the management.

Also, Justice for Jovic man. Guy comes on and immediately changes the game everytime but never gets even 14 minutes per game. But man knows where to be at the right time

  18. Pulisic should push to leave. The lack of respect from his teammates is obvious. Not only with the pemalty, but during the game. I’ll be surprised if he signs the contract extension.
