MN: Napoli fans hilariously fail in targeting Milan players at hotel – the reason

By Oliver Fisher -

Napoli fans attempted to disrupt the sleep of the AC Milan squad last night before today’s quarter-final second leg, but their attempts rather hilariously failed.

As MilanNews reports, some Napoli fans gathered under the hotel where the Milan squad are staying in Naples in an attempt to disturb the players, but as William Shakespeare once said it was ‘much ado about nothing’.

The ‘supporters’ shouted, lit flares and smoke bombs until the early hours of the morning in an attempt to try and keep the Rossoneri players up and affect their sleep pattern, however those attempts were absolutely in vain.

That is because of one very simple reason: the rooms of the hotel that housed Milan were all perfectly soundproofed, which means that Davide Calabria and his team-mates all slept soundly.

Everything is still to play for in Naples but Milan do take a slender advantage into the game having won the first leg at San Siro on Wednesday night thanks to Ismael Bennacer’s goal in the latter stages of the first half.

  1. Travelling takes a toll on the body. They do the same for champions league games also, even though it only takes about 1-3 hours to fly to most countries. Better to wake up fresh and fully rested.

    1. Well considering it’s such a high pressure game. I would think a night at home in your own bed, surrounded by family would be a lot more restful than a noisy hotel in Naples.
It is only a 1 hour flight, and they have all day

      1. the article clearly states that the neapolitan fans was noicy in vain because the hotel is well sound proofed,
Add to that there were also obligatory meetings with the presss in naples,
Anyways suggesting they should stay at home isnt a good advice as they need to focus as a group for such an important match and everything else is a distraction and matthew is absolutely correct in his statement of traveling takes a toll on the body.

  2. I saw the videos of the Napoli fans. It must be a very special hotel that can sound proof that level of noise.
Also independent reports(not milan news), give a different account.

Anyway a 1 hour flight is no hardship and they have all day to be with their team and for press etc.

I travel a lot and their is no comparison to the level of rest you get at home vs a hotel. Especially if there is a high pressure job to do

    1. You can fairly well sound proof a room with eggs shelves boxes lots of poor musicians has done that to create a cheap music studio and im sure even though its in napoli they can still afford better materimaterials than that. Fact is that there are a lot of solutions nowadays to either put under your walls or under a rug to soundproof rooms.

Whether you feel you are not affected by traveling doesnt really matter as it does take a toll on the body and as i said they had a mandatory meeting yesterday as well.

      1. Thanks for the sound proofing tips!

        Wax earplugs are great too.

Hopefully they boy’s are rested and relaxed.
Big day to day for all of us.

        Forza Milan

        1. 😀 no problem

          Yeah earplugs as well 😀

Absolutely , we both want the best for the club so lets hope they indeed are well rested and prepared for todays match.

          forza milan

  3. Why so judgemental?Maybe its all about their passion for their club being beyond your power of understanding.I would do many things for Milan that wouldnt be exactly “ortodox”…they breathe their club as I breathe Milan
