MN: Napoli-Milan set for subdued atmosphere thanks to ticket price protest

By Euan Burns -

Napoli vs AC Milan on Sunday night is going to have the raucous atmosphere that many will have expected thanks to a protest from the Azzurri fans.

As has been pointed out by Milan News, the Napoli ultras are going to be protesting the price of the tickets for their Champions League quarter-final against Milan.

The fans are going to be in the stadium as normal and will be singing both before and after the game, but during the action itself, they will be silent. The atmosphere at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona has been superb all season but that will not be the case for one of the biggest games of the season.

Part of the ultra’s statement read: “Less ultras and more families at the stadium. Which families? Given the prices, only the rich ones.”

Napoli are just a handful of victories away from taking the Serie A title away from Milan.
