Official: Napoli dealt huge blow as Osimhen will miss Milan clash through injury

By Oliver Fisher -

Victor Osimhen will not be available to Luciano Spalletti for Sunday’s match against AC Milan as he has an adductor problem, it has been confirmed.

As reported by the official website of Napoli, after his return from the Nigerian national team Osimhen has suffered a problem with his left adductor. He has been subjected to tests which showed a lesion and his condition will be evaluated next week.

There is no doubting that the former Lille striker is the main threat for Luciano Spalletti’s side as he has 25 goals in 29 games this season.

The report mentioned how the Azzurri are preparing the match against Milan scheduled for Sunday 2 April at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, and that midfielder Diego Demme did the entire session with the squad but Bartosz Bereszynski did individual work.

Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa returned from his commitments with the Cameroon national team and did the entire session too.

  1. Nice! Too bad they have Simeone as back up as he is very good also. And Kvaradona is still in the team and he is one of the worlds best players right now so we ain’t safe in any way. We need to put someone strong against Kvara. But I guess it will be Calabria and that won’t be near good enough. He needs to have reallt good support inside him. This is a match where Pobega could be good. Or maybe he would get a red card within 20 minutes… Kessie would have been good :p

    1. Firstly, it’s never nice to hear about a player who gets injured, no matter who.

Secondly, Calabria actually did well to contain Kvara during the first meeting, however he’s been in such a poor form lately (or let alone playing).

      1. “Firstly, it’s never nice to hear about a player who gets injured, no matter who. ”

BS. Every time I read about an Inter-player getting injured I embrace the news. Let’s not pretend we’re saints here. 😀

  2. Huge blow. They’re advantage over second place might drop under 20 points after this, if they don’t win. Their season is ruined.

Get a grip. This match is only important for us, not them. If he’s still injured for the CL matches, then yes, it will be a blow, but it’s not like Napoli have useless substitutes like Origi and Rebic.

  3. I know , he should hot have play that Nigerian games

you have scuddeto and champion league

    to win

and you are going to play for qualifiers of african nations cup on bad pitches

    good thinking

    foolish decisions

He should’ve lied that he missed his flight or visa issues

  4. Last year in early season we lose to napoli ( osimhem absence too) no effect i think. We lose 1-2 in san siro . Better hope we can win 1-0 or atleast draw in naples
