Nava reviews working with Maignan and Oddo’s impact after penalty save

Lapo Nava was heroic in AC Milan Futuro’s game against Ternana earlier this afternoon, and he has spoken about his performance and his growth after.

There is a lot of talent within Milan’s ranks, but you would probably be most optimistic about the goalkeeping position. Mike Maignan, obviously, sits atop the rankings, but for the future, there are Lapo Nava and Lorenzo Torriani, who have both shown impressive signs.

Both are incredibly young still, and as a goalkeeper, your career is a little more elongated normally, with many of the best playing until their late 30s, if not beyond that. For Nava, though, the focus is just on the here and now.

Luckily for him, the here and now is the aftermath of a 1-0 win for the Rossoneri, where he made the penalty save to keep the game in Milan’s favour, and after the game, he spoke to the press and Milan News have relayed his words.

“I wanted to congratulate the whole team, it is not only thanks to my performance that the victory came, but also to that of my teammates. One of these is Branca, who fought until the end with cramps. A bit of luck is coming our way. These three victories are making us believe we can still do it”.

What has changed with Oddo?

“After the first victory, there is always the desire to get the second: we believe in it so much and this is the most important thing.”

Where are you in your growth?

“Last year I spent a year in the first team, which helped me a lot with people like Maignan, Florenzi, Mirante and Sportiello, who were also decisive off the pitch.

“Going from a very high level and arriving in Serie C allowed me to have knowledge that I brought to this championship. I still have a lot to improve, I am aware of my means, but I want to develop them even more”.

  1. Milan GK in the youth department was full of talents like: torriani, colzani, raveyre and Nava. There’s many big name in the past : Rossi, Toldo, abbiati, donnarumma, giovanni galli. Give them some confidence and no wonder in the future Milan GK was Italian player.

  2. I wonder why no one is mentioning Francisco Farioli of Ajax to be on our bench, it will be a great hope for these youths because he will definitely make use of them.
