Ruben Amorim has regularly admitted that he has made mistakes in the past – maybe even some with AC Milan already – and he is looking to change them.
Amorim knows that he is not without flaws. His time at Manchester United was full of them and he is keen to ensure that the same mistakes are not made during his time at Milan. Of course, mistakes can be made.

Yet, it’s what follows that really matters. Before the international break, the Portuguese already began to implement new ideas and now that could be packaged as him being a ‘new’ version of himself, as Gazzetta dello Sport writes this morning, seen below.
Amorim’s new idea
It is suggested that a three-man defence can be changed into a back four, with Mario Gila being key to the idea – who’d have thought, given how the season started. With this, Pervis Estupinan would drop into left-back and this would free up the attack.
Samuel Chukwueze’s defensive role would be less important and the positives were seen against Lecce before the break kicked off. Amorim, as the report states, has also made it clear that this wouldn’t be a one-off.
It wouldn’t be a cover-up, but a chance to attack more, even if the formation seems more defensive. In reality, the 4-2-3-1 – as it would become – would give attacking freedom to the front line. So, there would be a less fluid structure, but this isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Erm. It’s literally the same thing guys. The inverted right wing back pushed higher up against a low block, the left sided one with less initial licence to do so but opportunities arise through game state and circumstances. Against Torino, Chukwueze had more touches in their box than any other player on our team.
Heck, our tactic under Pioli was to overload the left side and use the right for balance/work rate.
I used to love the idea of sitting in an Italian plaza with a coffee and a copy of GdS but boy the more stories you see in it the worse you realise their analysis of anything is.
So after selling Leao, he wants to play with wingers
Yup because he’s been so bright on his natural position at the Turkish league.
Last I checked he played 4 games and did nothing. He’s being criticized just like here.
