Atalanta have now emerged as a rival to AC Milan in their pursuit of Rasmus Hojlund, according to a report.

Milan have been extensively linked with a move for Hojlund over the past few days, and Igli Tare confirmed he is an option. But as we get towards the end of the window and there is no deal wrapped up, the risk of being overtaken by competition increases.

Another rival for Hojlund

Now, The Athletic‘s James Horncastle is claiming that the sale of Serie A top scorer Mateo Retegui to Al Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League means two things. The first is that they were reluctant to sell Ademola Lookman, especially to a rival. The second is that the want reinforcements in attack.

Atalanta ‘continue to follow Rasmus Hojlund’s situation’ and have given consideration to bringing him back to Bergamo, the club where he made his breakthrough before sealing a big-money switch to Manchester United.

He also confirms that Napoli are expected to use the final bit of the window to bring in a striker as cover for Romelu Lukaku, who faces three months on the sidelines with a severe muscle problem sustained in training.

Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca has already been signed but he was seen as a deputy, while the sales of Giacomo Raspadori and Giovanni Simeone leave them light. Thus, it is possible there is some truth to the Hojlund links in La Gazzetta dello Sport.

  1. Passing on Lucca is going to prove costly and less efficient per dollar spent after all. Hence the urgency of striking early. You need replacements targetted and secured. Selling Okafor for 20, you better have THE EXACT PROFILE YOU WANT SIGNED, SEALED AND DELIVERED FIRST.

Now they are playing a dangerous game and we are playing russian roulette. Should Gimenez go down for a significant period or/and Leao have recurrent muscle issues, then we will need to use Pulisic and Chukweze as strikers. There is no need to explain how that will turn out. You have less pressure with assets to work with, as proven quantities, even less than ideal, than gambling from a position of desperation.

    1. Dont worry bro we will have 11 players every game😉
Result if come good if not will be next year 😁
      We live american dream now.
      Forza profit Milan
