AC Milan’s two summer signings are in the city for day one of preseason, and for one of them it is a bit of a surprise.
With his signing having been completed on Friday and with no international commitments to worry about, it was always expected that Mario Gila would be available for the first day of preseason under the orders of Ruben Amorim.

On Monday, photos from Milanello show Gila smiling as he met with his coach Amorim and his new team-mates too, for day one of the raduno.

One player who wasn’t necessarily expected in the city was Goncalo Ramos. The striker signed from PSG for €74m plus bonuses a couple of weeks ago but had been busy at the World Cup with Portugal.
As is customary for those involved in major tournaments, Ramos had been granted a period of rest before having to report for preseason. However, he is in the city anyway (perhaps to sort out accommodation) and was pictured next to his shirt in the club store.
