CM.it: Not only Botman and Sanches – the nine other players Milan are monitoring in France

By Oliver Fisher -

It is now well known that AC Milan are scouting the French market for the best possible value for money, but they are not just focusing on Lille.

While the Rafael Leao and Mike Maignan deals have given Milan a preferential lane of sorts with Lille and they want to sign Sven Botman and Renato Sanches from them this summer, Calciomercato.it reports that there are other targets in mind just in case negotiations do not go to plan.

Seko Fofana – formerly of Udinese and now at RC Lens – is confirming himself as one of the best midfielders in the league as per the report and Milan are big fans of his, while they also like his midfield partner Cheikh Doucoure.

There are two potential alternatives to Botman too however given that Newcastle and other sides want him and may be able to bid higher. Saidou Sow of Saint-Etienne was recently proposed to Milan, while Loic Bade of Rennes has long been liked by the management.

In addition to Botman and Sanches, Jonathan David is also very popular but he is unlikely to move for less than €50m given the competition which is why the Rossoneri could consider other profiles for the attack, such as the 19-year-old Hugo Ekitike of Reims.

Mohamed-Ali Cho of Angers has been on the scouting notebook for some time, while Mauro Icardi’s adventure at PSG seems destined to end, but the player’s salary is currently too high an obstacle to overcome for Milan.

There are also two players being considered as Kalulu-style signings. The first is that of Warren Bondo, an 18-year-old midfielder at Nancy in Ligue 2 who was linked last summer, while the second is Mamadou Coulibaly (17) of Monaco.
