GdS: ‘Show signs of life’ – Nkunku has 4 games to turn Milan career around

Christopher Nkunku’s arrival was one that many disagreed with. In fact, finding anyone who actually agreed with him joining AC Milan is tough.

It was a deal that pretty much summarised recent summers. A move for a big-money player without much reason other than panic. Did he fit Massimiliano Allegri’s ideas? No. Was he in fine form? No. Had he shown any signs of form since leaving Germany? You guessed it, no.

So, why did he arrive? Well, that question remains unanswered and the blame for his arrival has been passed around Milan regularly.

A signing that hasn’t worked and for that reason, he could and maybe should leave in the summer mercato. However, it would appear that he has one (or four) final chances.

Nkunku’s final (four) chances

As we enter the final weeks of the season, Gazzetta dello Sport states that Nkunku has been a ‘deflated’ waste of €37 million. His red balloon celebration has only been seen on a handful of occasions and that is telling.

There have been a few peaks, yes. However, the troughs in his form have been extensive and unforgiving.

A few goals could turn his season around and maybe, he could earn a place in the Champions League squad. The report even suggests that he could start in place of his fellow struggler, Christian Pulisic.

However, the situation is embarrassing. His arrival was contested from the start and another big money signing has failed to deliver. It is yet another showing of the Rossoneri’s incompetence in the forward market, as the report continues, something that needs to be changed this summer.

  1. The home fans have decided who they think should be benched, yet Allegri is too cowardly to bench the loud-mouth star. Lavishing the diva with praise every time he crosses midfield to play defense is easier than making the lineup decision his predecessors had the balls to make.
