Christopher Nkunku was pushed towards the door by AC Milan in January, but now, he could be the one doing the pushing.
It seemed for most of the month that Nkunku would go. After all, he was under a lot of pressure to leave Milan just six months after arriving from the Premier League.

It is an understandable position for the Rossoneri to have taken, too. Ultimately, a lot of money was spent on him, and there were several opportunities in January. However, no move inbound or outbound was made, despite it seeming likely that Jean-Philippe Mateta would sign.
Nkunku’s chance
As a result of this, there is now a forced faith in Nkunku. To some, he certainly was not the ideal striker to be leading the Diavolo into the second half of the season. However, that is the job that he finds himself tasked with.

As Corriere dello Sport wrote this morning (via MilanNews), he has matched his goal tally for the past 48 league matches in his past six games. Five goals are not enough, of course, and Massimiliano Allegri ultimately needs more from his €38 million man.
Nevertheless, he has started the year in fine form, stepping up whilst others have been absent through injury. He, alongisde Allegri and Igli Tare, opposed the move away from San Siro, and now he must continue to show why belief in him should be given.

his performances are improving but 3 of his goals are from penalties.
Agreed….we need field goals
Any goal scored, regardless of how, is highly positive for confidence and consistency. He is a really good player who hasn’t experienced stability in a long time.
He was unfairly criticized at Chelsea because of his injuries, but when he played, he was one of their best players.
That is true, but he has also created 3 penalties I believe, so it’s all fair in my view.
Actually I factchecked myself – he was awarded 2 and robbed of one during the first match against Bologna, where even the FIGC recognized it was a wrong decision.
I don’t want to gauge his progress against Bologna, but I do sincerely hope that he continually improves and continues to contribute to our attack.
Just put him in positions to succeed, i.e. second striker.
5 goals in 6 matches suggests, he is currently scoring against whomever is put in front of him. Not just Bologna.
