Nkunku never really showed much promise for Milan, or at least, he didn’t consistently. The Frenchman’s arrival didn’t convince last summer and throughout the season there were very few moments where that feeling changed.

He was never the striker which the club needed; perhaps that’s why such a statement was made with the arrival of Goncalo Ramos. However, most thought that he could’ve played a role in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system.
It wasn’t to be, though.
Nkunku back
Finding an exit wasn’t the simplest task, but he eventually headed back to Germany, where RB Leipzig were happy to see him return and he marked it with an assist. It has led Calciomercato.com to call it a ‘sensational debut’, and a reminder of the future was included.
Right now, he has joined on a loan worth €4 million, but that could be made permanent at the end of the season for €28m. Further signs – like the one seen on his debut – will only be received well in Germany and that buy clause may be activated.
If he continues like this, though, there will be an undeniable ‘why did it not work’ feeling for the Rossoneri…

If you are refering to Omari here then respectfully you do not have the insight at all. You cannot even compare them from the potential but if the aim is to just say something negative like most of the audience here then I understand.

It’s a question of market timing, league environment, and homegrown value rather than dismissing either player’s ceiling.
Good for him. Please play better and better every game so they will buy him out, that will be the best for all parties.

I like Nkunku and really wanted him stay and succeed here. But Bundesliga is literally the farmer’s league for attacking midfielders and strikers.
Well, Santiago Gimenez provided an assist to Joao Felix on their (both) debut match against Roma. The media also called “sensational” also back then. But see how it ends for both with Milan? Judging only for 1 match?

I trust Amorim’s choice. He saw it first hand and then decided not to work with Nkunku. There’s must be something. The only thing I hope is that Leipzig will buy him next season. One less thing to be worried about.

Decent player but he never should’ve be brought to Milan given Allegri’s system.
Did he seem like a fit for Amorim’s system? Much more so, yes. But coaches know what they need and if Ruben didn’t see it in preseason it’s best for all to move on.
Hope he does well in Germany. Look forward to seeing Omari.
