AC Milan are a legendary Italian football club, but they are having a mixed campaign in 2019-20, which in addition to the stop due to the Coronavirus emergency has us feeling nostalgic.
If you like this team and enjoy a sports wager from time to time, the Ladbrokes welcome offer is definitely worth looking at. They have some top odds and an extensive range of betting markets, which of course, covers AC Milan’s games!
We feel that the Italian Serie A League is one of the most exciting in the world. It just has that passion and flair to it that some other leagues are missing, and there has never been a better time to use a promo code to get ahead of the game. AC Milan have been showing promising signs with their form of late, so it’s always worth taking a look at the odds for these guys.
The club may have some decent strikers in their ranks right now, but they have been home to some incredible strikers in the past. Take a look at these AC Milan legends below.
1. Gunnar Nordahl
To have seen this guy in action, you’d need to have been following Milan back in the 1950s. Obviously this might be a bit too far back for many readers, but let us tell you, this guy was the leader of the pack by a mile! Nordahl knocked in 221 goals during his 7 years at the club, and it was his physical strength and stature that made him so prolific on the field.
Clearly he wasn’t bad at finding the back of the net either, which AC Milan must have been fairly pleased about all those years ago. There hasn’t been another striker since Nordahl to even come close to this record, so he really is in a league of his own for the club.
2. Andriy Shevchenko
Shevchenko actually put in two shifts at AC Milan, the first for 7 years from 1999-2006, and the second for just the one year, 2007-2008.
It would seem that Shevchenko just didn’t want to stay away from the club after departing for less than a year, but we are sure that AC Milan fans wouldn’t hold this against him. He managed to hit home 175 goals during his time at AC Milan, which puts him at number 2 of all time.
Shevchenko now has a key role in managing the Ukrainian international squad, and he has even moved into politics!
3. Gianni Rivera
Coming in at number 3 of all time, Gianni Rivera scored a rather admirable 164 goals during his AC Milan days. Interestingly, Rivera didn’t strictly play as a striker for the club, as he mainly played as an attacking midfielder. Quite clearly, that didn’t prevent Rivera from aiming for goal – rather successfully it would seem.
We don’t know if Gianni Rivera has been chatting with Shevchenko over the years, but he also moved into politics and was previously a member of the EU Parliament – they obviously teach more than just football at AC Milan! As it stands, Rivera was still one of the best there has ever been in a long line of players at AC Milan.
