GdS: Nottingham Forest offer escape route to Milan loanee – talks on with Chelsea

By Oliver Fisher -

Tiemoue Bakayoko’s loan spell at AC Milan could be cut short as a Premier League club are showing an interest in signing him, a report claims.

Bakayoko rejoined Milan on a two-year loan from Chelsea in the summer of 2021 but found playing time very hard to come by last season.

The French midfielder has not even featured much in preseason as he missed the last two friendlies against Vicenza and Pergolettese altogether through Stefano Pioli’s choice, so he has understood even more now that he is right at the bottom of the midfield hierarchies heading into 2022-23.

According to Luca Bianchin of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bakayoko is an option for newly-promoted Nottingham Forest as they look to bolster their midfield ahead of a probable battle against relegation back to the Championship.

Bakayoko could end his two-year loan at Milan a year early to sign with Forest as per the journalist, with talks ongoing to find an agreement on the player’s wages.
