Milan Futuro made it two wins out of two to begin their first season as they came from behind to beat Novara in the Coppa Italia Lega Pro last night.
The first chance came for Mattia Liberali who drew a save from Minelli with an angled shot, but in the 11th minute the home side took the lead as Khailoti finished from a corner.
The Rossoneri reacted well but Novara were a threat on the break, with Lapo Nava making a wonderful save to stop Calcagni from doubling their lead, deflecting the ball behind for a corner.
Milan Futuro then equalised in the 24th minute after some great work by Chaka Traorè on the left wing, as his trickery drew a rash found and a penalty. Francesco Camarda stepped up to the spot and converted with confidence.
The Traorè-Camarda continued and just a few minutes before the break it gave Daniele Bonera’s side the lead. A looping cross from Chaka on the left found the run of the centre-forward, who headed in with power and precision.
Milan Futuro had their chances to kill the game on the counter but had to make do with a 2-1 win, which follows the 3-0 victory over Lecce in the previous round and means a spot in the last 16 of the cup. The Rossoneri start their league season one week today against Virtus Estella.
Let’s go! One more full season where these kids can adapt to playing grown men then I think the likes of Liberali etc can get a run as rotation players in the first team squad.
Very excited to see if we have some homegrown talents that truly add to the 1st XI rather than the likes of Pobega who are only here because of the uefa quotas
I like the fact that they are using the same tactic as the senior squad.
In case any of them is invited to the senior team, they would av been familier with the tactics the senior use
They also train together
Watching highlights of Milan Futuro gives so much good hope for the future. And it brings back winning mentality I used to see from the mid 00s Milan. Consistency is key.
Lapo Nava was outstanding . Diego Sia played good too
