Official: AC Milan announce permanent signing of Saelemaekers on deal until 2024

AC Milan have officially announced that they have used their option to buy winger Alexis Saelemaekers from Anderlecht.

The Belgian wide man arrived at San Siro in the January transfer window on a loan deal until the end of the season, with an option to buy inserted in favour of the Rossoneri.

Although he has not had many opportunities to showcase his talent, the 21-year-old did look dynamic off the bench in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Roma.

Now, Milan have released a statement on their official website confirming that they have used their option to buy, with the figure widely reported to be €3.5million in addition to the paid loan costing €3.5m – so a total of €7m.

“AC Milan announces having exercised the option to buy Alexis Saelemaekers on a permanent basis. The Belgian player has signed a contract with the Club until 30 June 2024,” it reads.

Saelemaekers amassed two goals and two assists for Anderlecht through 16 league appearances before his move to San Siro, where has has since made six outings in all competitions amassing a total of just 92 minutes, as per Transfermarkt.
