Official: AC Milan vs. Cagliari starting XIs – one change from Genoa win

Massimiliano Allegri has named his starting eleven for tonight’s game between AC Milan and Cagliari, making just one change compared to the win against Genoa.

The final game of the season is here! It’s been a long campaign for Milan, filled with ups and downs, but now they need to make sure to get over the top-four line. A win against Cagliari is all it takes to do so, having put themselves in a pretty good position with the Genoa win.

Allegri highlighted the importance of the game during his press conference yesterday, and it’s been reported that his future with the club is closely tied to the outcome of the encounter.

AC Milan vs. Cagliari: Official starting XIs

Just a few minutes ago (at the time of writing), Allegri announced his starting eleven for the game. He has made just one change compared to last time out, replacing the Genoa goalscorer Zachary Athekame with Alexis Saelemaekers, who is back from suspension.

Luka Modric is in the squad but evidently, he’s not quite ready to start yet, meaning Ardon Jashari keeps his spot in the holding midfield role. Up front, faith has been put in Christopher Nkunku and Santiago Gimenez, while Rafael Leao is on the bench.

Official Milan XI (3-5-2): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Jashari, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Gimenez, Nkunku.

Bench: Torriani, Terracciano, De Winter, Odogu, Vladimirov, Athekame, Estupinan, Modric, Ricci, Sardo, Loftus-Cheek, Leao, Pulisic, Balentien, Fullkrug.

Official Cagliari XI (4-4-2): Caprile; Zappa, Mina, Zé Roberto, Obert; Juan Rodriguez, Adopo, Gaetano, Deiola; Esposito, Borrelli.

Bench: Sherri, Ciocci, Palestra, Mazzitelli, Felici, Muyembi, Belotti, Agustin, Dossena, Sulemana, Mendy, Grandu, Trepy, Sulev, Russo.

  1. I’m gonna take a leap here that goes against what we have learnt the last previous months.
AC Milan 3 vs 1 Cagliari
    time will tell

  2. We should go for Pepijn Lijnders as our coach and build with him for a long term project like Arsenal did with Arteta. It’s time to move away from these old heads and get more younger masterminds that have learned under Pep Guardiola.

    1. Yes a guy who has managed 51 matches with an overall winning percentage of 47%, partially in a a league his team doninated certainly should become AC Milans next coach. That is far below stats for any of our coaches over the years. So a BIG no from me at least.

      1. Ok Wikipedia expert, which of his teams had 47% winning percentage in a league they dominated ??? What are you talking about ?

        1. Wikipedia expertert sure if you like so obviously I spoke about the coach you were suggesting. That is his overall combined winning percentage in two clubs little genius.

    1. Leao made us loose this match, 90 minutes so lazy… oh, sorry Leao did not play majority of the match.

So who do we put the blame on now but Allegri? Rabiot? Rabiot should be sold.

      Fvck.

  3. There was a handball before the build up to that corner (the one Cagliari scored from) which the ref failed to call. Sigh. Refs again 🙄

  4. They scored a goal in second minute and right away go into defensive shell against crappy Cagliari team and give up a goal. Win or lose, we need to get rid of Allegri, his futbol is unwatchable.

  5. Tomori is garbage. Gets caught flat footed on the corner, causing unnecessary drama always risking a booking. This team will be so much better with a proper no. 9, a proper no. 6, and a replacement for Tomori.

    1. Cagliari is dominating possession. All teams dominate possession against us. If we make it in to the CL next season, it will be another season of playing like a relegation team.

  6. Some teams are scheduled to play at 1945 today but Juve fans are trying to cook something. I just hope is not what I’m thinking

  7. Cagliari, a team who are playing for nothing are even more purposeful than us. Why should I even be worrying? This utter nonsense from Milan and I pity the thousands who work hard to buy tickets to support a team that plays this sh*t. We are doing deep in our own half and we play as if not to score not concede. That’s a STALEMATE situation. Pathetic

  8. Even if we are playing deep, how did we allow Cagliari to equalise for God sake ??? I’m not against packing d bus ds time ..if u are to do that , u need to pack the bus very well..

  9. Allegri is overrated and outdated coach who knows nothing about modern football his time is past. If Milan retains his services next season it’s over nothing to show for it

  10. There are Allegri fan boys here who said we conceded 3 goals against Udinese because of 4-3-3 and here is yall favorite 3-5-2 and all its glory. No defense, No offense. Lmao.

Allegri supporters are actually the problems we have in this team cos I can’t believe anyone can watch this nonsense all season long and think we should stick with the same coach. SMDH!!!

  11. Redturd out, Allegri out. In the most important game of the season he leaves Modric, Leao, and Athekame on the bench until we’re down 2-1. Incredible.

    1. Bro Redturd gave him Rabiot and Modric and the dumb coach couldn’t get anything.. I blame Allegri more for this season.

  12. wouldnt even matter if we qualified for the conference. we have no chance in europe with allegri. very worried for next season with allegri ball

  13. Allegri said our target was CL football and since we didn’t get it, can he pls do the honorable thing and leave on his own plsss

  14. Leao made us loose this match, 90 minutes so lazy… oh, sorry Leao did not play majority of the match.

So who do we put the blame on now but Allegri? Rabiot? Rabiot should be sold.

    Fvck.

    1. When you get outplayed and knocked out by a team with average player value at around €2M per player, that doesn’t really look like Cardinal’s fault, it is expressly and directly on the coach a.k.a dinosaur.

I’m really not particularly hurt as we would have been embarrassed in the UCL with Allegri being in charge.

It just feels like we were relegated, just hope we plan ahead properly for next season.
