Official: AC Milan confirm Gianluigi Donnarumma and Jens Petter Hauge are COVID-positive

AC Milan have confirmed that Gianluigi Donnarumma and Jens Petter Hauge have contracted Coronavirus.

Via a statement on the club’s official website, the club have announced that after undergoing tests last night, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Jens Petter Hauge and three other members of the team group (believed to be technical staff) have tested positive for COVID-19.

All are asymptomatic and were immediately subjected to home isolation as per the rules established, and the local health authorities were informed. Today the rest of the team and all of the coaching staff were tested again, and no new positive cases were found.

They become the latest to be hit by the virus after defenders Matteo Gabbia and Leo Duarte and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and ahead of tonight’s game against Roma it means that Ciprian Tatarusanu or Antonio Donnarumma are in line for a start in goal. Hauge was unlikely to start the game anyway, but it is a big blow ahead of Thursday night’s Europa League game.
