AC Milan have officially confirmed the signing on midfielder Aster Vranckx on an initial loan deal from Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg.
Through a statement on the club’s website, Milan have announced that the 19-year-old Vranckx has joined the Rossoneri on loan with an option to buy deal.
Vranckx came through the youth ranks at KV Mechelen and made his debut for the Belgian side in 2019, making 47 appearances and scoring five goals for them in total before joining Wolfsburg in the summer of 2020.
He scored two times in his 29 appearances there during the 2021-22 campaign, and he has represented the Belgium Under 15, Under 16, Under 19 and Under 21 teams, collecting four caps for the latter.
Since Franck Kessie left on a free transfer for Barcelona, the focus for the Rossoneri management has been on replacing him with another midfielder. The likes of Renato Sanches, Raphael Onyedika and Jean Onana have all been linked, but it is Vranckx who has arrived.
Vranckx has the potential to be better than all the other people that are mentioned and isn’t injury prone like Renato
What’s amazing is the number of games played at just 19. Can’t wait to see him play.
