Official: AC Milan confirm signing of Tijjani Reijnders on deal until 2028

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have completed their fifth signing of the summer transfer window as Tijjani Reijnders has arrived from AZ Alkmaar.

Through a statement on their official website, Milan write that they delighted to announce that Reijnders has joined the Rossoneri from AZ Alkmaar on a permanent basis. The Dutch midfielder has signed a contract with the club until 30 June 2028.

Born on 29 July 1998 in Zwolle, Tijjani played in FC Twente’s youth system until 2015 when he returned to his hometown to sign for PEC Zwolle, where he made his First Team debut on 13 August 2017 (Zwolle 4-2 Roda JC).

He joined AZ the following season and then played for their reserve side for two years before making his debut in the first team.  The Dutchman went on to score nine goals and provide eleven assists in 105 total Eredivisie appearances.

On 29 May 2023, he received his first full international call-up for the Netherlands’ Nations League Final Four campaign.

Reijnders will wear the number 14 shirt and he joins Marco Sportiello, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Luka Romero and Christian Pulisic as the fifth summer addition.

  1. Best signing of the mercato and BY FAR. I hope we go for Dominguez to have midfield sorted and then get isaksen for backup RW and someone for ST position(hopefuly Taremi, cause im not that keen on Danjuma). And if in the meanwhile we can land Singo I would confidently say that we have a fair chance of winning a scuddeto, inspite Inter having Thuram and Fratessi.

  2. Welcome to Milan! I’m excited to see him play. Another key piece for the midfield, and I think we’ll do well. We still have several more signings to do, and I think Musah is next. Then a RW.
