AC Milan have been handing a fine by the Sporting Judge after two incidents that happened during the 1-1 draw against Atalanta on Sunday night.
The official press release has been published with the decisions of the Sporting Judge after the 26th round of Serie A. Under the ‘fines’ section, it has emerged that Milan have been charged 10 thousand euros.
The fine was imposed on the Rossoneri because their supporters, in the 42nd and 45th minute of the first half, directed a beam of laser light in the direction of two players of the opposing team; attenuated sanction pursuant to art. 29, paragraph 1 letter b) CGS.
More specifically, the report references when Teun Koopmeiners was lining up to take Atalanta’s penalty kick, which was awarded in controversial circumstances after a video review for an alleged high boot from Olivier Giroud on Emil Holm.
Supporters were obviously left frustrated with the decision, but it is absolutely against the regulations to try and distract the penalty taker by shining laser pointers in their eyes, let alone potentially dangerous to the player.
It did not achieve anything either, because the Dutchman slotted his penalty down the middle as Mike Maignan went diving to the left.
