Official: AC Milan vs. Lecce starting XIs – four changes from Como win

AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri has named his starting line-up for the game against Lecce at San Siro tonight.

Milan produced an impressive comeback win in midweek against Como away from home. However, the pressure is instantly back on to follow it up with another victory tonight against Lecce, especially after both Inter and Napoli both won yesterday.

The only absentee for Allegri is Santiago Gimenez. Strahinja Pavlovic returned to training during the week after having nine stitches in his head, but instead it is Koni De Winter that he been given the nod again at left centre-back.

The three-man defence will be completed by Fikayo Tomori and Matteo Gabbia ahead of the captain Mike Maignan. Alexis Saelemaekers will start again on the right, with Pervis Estupinan coming in for Davide Bartesaghi on the left.

Only Adrien Rabiot keeps his place in the midfield trio compared to midweek, with Samuele Ricci and Ardon Jashari coming in. Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic get the nod up front.

  1. Formation to make things difficult, hopefully magical things can happen. This midfield pair hasn’t worked at any time, and Alegri keeps repeating it, one player will have to take the blame if things don’t work out.

  2. I know Bart’s made some blunders recently but Jesus Christ Estupinan better get his sh*t together.. I don’t know what I witnessed against Fiorentina…

    1. I would prefer Bartesaghi and day and any time and Estupinan certainly doesnt instill calmness in me either.

Can you please explain me how I add an avatar picture to when I post here on SempreMilan as I’m getting tired of this grey/white avatar bs and besides of that I would also to prefer to use the one I usually used on Goal and for that matter on my Steam profile. SempreMilan doesn’t seem to have a log in as I just post here via name and email but even my avatar here is/was the same I had on Rossoneriblog.

      1. Yep very disappointed in Estupinan – maybe he can improve otherwise it’s another wasted signing. To get the avatar you need to create one at en.gravatar.com/emails then post using that email

        1. Allegri probably is trying to give him some confidence back and who knows he might still turn things around but I really doesn’t see him becoming a permanent starter again.
Ok thanks I might try that then as I can always keep my old mail for other stuff. I would like though that SempreMilan just made a log in with the possibility of adding our own avatars so we doesn’t need to go through hoops to get it done. Anyways much appreciated for elaborating dejan10.

    1. Correction: 2-1. We’ll score first, then give up a soft goal at the end of the half, then scramble for the winner in the last 10 minutes of the game.

  3. Surely after that dire performance v Como this was an opportunity to show some ambition and change things
Why we can’t play 433 against Lecce is baffling

Id rather see barr at LB and Ahakame at RB (give alexis a rest.
    Start fulkrug with Puli/Leao

In terms of midfield I’d be happy enough as this is our future, so they need time together. I prefer Ricci in the middle. Want to see what Jashari can do in a box to box role

Fingers crossed but what’s the point, we’ll get outplayed by Lecce and scrape a result

  4. My concern remains Leão. I suspect he’ll be in worse shape having played on Friday. He’s injured so you have a front line operating at 75%.

  5. Anyone who has an idea what a few amounts of people was shouting during the moment of silence for Commisso ?

  6. We will run AGAIN desperately like headless chickens in the last 10 minutes of the game for a victory goal or an equalizer ? I hope not…

  7. Mr. Allegri I want to tell you a very big secret , like Polichinelle secret…you know…when you play at home with a lower tier opponent you can change the playing system…wow… that’s big, huh ?
Maybe a 3-4-3…4-3-3…wow… something totally revolutionary. Don’t tell anyone this secret…

  8. I missed the 1st 20 mins and was upset.
Then i watched 25 mins and could barely stay awake. I don’t think anything, I mean ANYTHING happened in that 25 mins.

I wish Allegri would stick his short nose up his own ar5e!

    1. The first 15-20 minutes wasn’t actually too bad in my view but still taking it into consideration that we are playing Lecce it wasn’t extraordinary either. The remaining first half was indeed nothing to write home about though.

I still think this match is for us to win and if I have to make a guess I think we will win it with maybe 2-3 goals if we can get a bit more up in gear. Only time will tell though.

  9. Jashari can change his name in Sideshari or Backshari from his style of playing and passing . Frontshari is totally forbidden.
