Official: AC Milan confirm signing of Mario Gila on deal until 2031

AC Milan have confirmed the signing of central defender Mario Gila from SS Lazio on a five-year deal.

Going into the summer it was known that Milan would look to bolster the defence, one which collapsed towards the end of last season under Massimiliano Allegri having looked solid for the first 25 games of the season or so.

After links with other targets, it was an old flame that ended up being rekindled as Milan moved swiftly to beat the competition and land Gila. They agreed terms with the Spaniard and then had reached handshakes over the transfer fee within 48 hours too.

Gila landed in Milano on Thursday evening and underwent his medical tests on Friday. He then headed to the club’s headquarters for all of the media duties. As a reminder, the transfer fee is expected to be €30m including bonuses.

  1. Tomori out Gila in – I don’t think any sane Milanista is going to argue with that.. we’re finally getting our 💩 together…

    1. Tomori out Gila in??..and when Gila is suspended on injured or needs to rest??? A big issue last season that caused points was not quality, it was quality in depth…we will have that same problem if we let our reliable players leave. Tomori needs to stay.

        1. @ Goku, the reason why the top teams are so far ahead? John Stones gets subbed for Ake, City lose nothing. Pedri off Gavi on. We need 2 top players for every position. Last season…Modic off Ricci on. disaster. We can’t have that or the same result…Euro League.
