Official: AC Milan confirm signing of Luka Jovic on deal until 2024

AC Milan have officially announced that they have signed Luka Jovic from Fiorentina on a permanent deal on transfer deadline day.

As a statement on the official website confirms, Milan have acquired Jović on a permanent basis. The Serbian striker has signed a contract with the Rossoneri Club until 30 June 2024.

Jovic grew up in the youth sector of Red Star where he made his first team debut back in May 2014 against Vojvodina. With Red Star he played 48 matches scoring 13 goals, before being bought by Portuguese giants Benfica.

He stayed for just one season there before moving to Eintracht Frankfurt. With the German team he made 75 appearances, scoring 36 goals.

In June 2019 he moved to Real Madrid where he made 32 appearances and scored 2 goals, and in January 2021 he returned on loan to Eintracht where he scored 4 times in 14 games.

At the end of the loan he went back to Madrid for the 2021-22 season (19 appearances, 1 goal) and then last summer joined Fiorentina on a permanent basis where he played 50 matches scoring 13 goals.

With the Serbian national team Jović boasts 30 appearances with 10 goals to his credit.

The statement also confirms that Jovic will wear the number 15 shirt.

  1. Not a bad decision at all, for a last minute move / quick fix solution. He’s better than Origi, that’s what’s really counts. Concerning eventual problems with his attitude, I’m certain that Pioli and the rest of the guys will take care of him.

  2. They basically throw away 2,5 m € for a year for this ex player. On the other side they often make problems for much better players and negotiate for weeks over 0,5 m € discount.

    1. Would have honestly preferred they didn’t bring anyone in. I would like to see the scouting reports on Jovic, it should be made public

  3. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but once he pulls the red and black jersey on, we should all be unequivocal Jovic fans. I hope he goes on a tear this season for us.

  4. As an football fan i’m alway surprised there are always clubs and people who still believe and give yet ANOTHER chance to such or similar declining football player.
In my opinion these players waste their talent due their attitude. Attitude and behaviours are one of the hardest things to change and it take time. Jovic came here for a year, what do you think will happen? He will be the cheaper version of Origi..

  5. He has one year to prove himself. Thank God we got someone. Not his fan anymore, but, with 13 goals last season, that’s something. This is his chance to reward Milan, for the times he turned us down.
