AC Milan have officially announced the signing of centre-back Marco Pellegrino on a long-term deal from Club Atletico Platense.

On their official website, Milan state that they are pleased to announce they have completed the permanent signing of Pellegrino from Club Atlético Platense. The Argentinian defender has signed a contract with the Rossoneri until 30 June 2028 .

Born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) on 18 July 2002, Marco grew up in the Platense Youth Sector with which he made his debut in the First Team on 23 March 2023, amassing 17 appearances and 1 goal.

The statement also goes on to confirm that Pellegrino will wear the number 31 shirt at Milan, which is the same number that he wore with Platense.

According to what has been reported by Fabrizio Romano among others, the deal will cost around €3m as a transfer fee and Platense will have a resale clause as part of it.

Pellegrino has an Italian passport and thus will not take up a non-EU spot, and he will join as one of the highest rated defensive prospects in Argentina having made 17 appearances this season.
