Official: AC Milan announce signing of Tammy Abraham on season-long loan deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have officially confirmed the signing of Tammy Abraham from AS Roma on a season-long loan deal for 2024-25.

On the official website, Milan have announced the signing of Abraham from Roma on a loan deal. The striker has signed a contract with the club until 30 June 2025.

It comes just moments after the Giallorossi confirmed the signing of Alexis Saelemaekers, who went the other way – also on a one season loan deal – as part of the operation between the two clubs.

Born in London on 2 October 1997, Abraham progressed through Chelsea’s youth ranks before making his professional debut with the same club in 2016. He spent time on loan at Bristol City, Swansea City and Aston Villa.

After returning to Chelsea in 2019, he went on to win the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup with the Blues. In 2021, he joined Roma, with whom he won the first edition of the UEFA Conference League, also scoring 17 league goals that season.

He made his England debut on 10 November 2017 and he has three goals in 11 appearances for his country. The club have also confirmed that Abraham will wear the number 90 shirt for Milan, with Luka Jovic having taken his preferred No.9 earlier in the summer.

  1. Welcome Tammy.
Milan went from Giroud and Jovic last season to Morata and Abraham this season.
Upgrade based on track record . Now they just got to show it on the pitch.

  2. Good luck Milan

Probably we already loss battle for scudetto. Main reason is sacking Pioli, with so many new arrivals. But in first two games we can see how some our stars don’t play like before.

Milan still had luck in season when Juventus was punished. But that kind of luck could be lost soon or later which would cost club massively than investing on strong players properly

    1. There was zero luck when Juve were punished.

Since the decision to deduct points was made BEFORE the end of the season that point deduction was factored into the season run in where Milan DELIBERATELY rested players in league games to boost their champions league chances where they made it to the semi-finals.

If anything Milan were unlucky in the run in. There were numerous examples where Milan were unlucky missing chances and hitting posts, and conceding goals on counter.

I really wish Milan fans would stop playing down our achievements. It’s exactly the reason we’ve ended up in this mess.

      1. According to transfermarkt, Tammy’s contract with Roma ends June 30, 2025, and I don’t think he signed an extension.
So, he should be a free agent at the end of the season. No reason for Milan to pay for a buy option.
I think Milan just paid a loan fee, plus gave Roma Saelemaekers on loan.

  3. So, based on your comment, Real Madrid also lost the battle for 1st place after getting 5 points out of 3 games, and we’ve only played 2 so far?

  4. Thumbs up from me. He’s just what we needed. We can’t play another season with a CF plus wingers formation and only one true CF in the squad

    1. No need. Tammy’s contract with Roma ends in June 2025.
      He’s a free agent then.
Kinda like the situation with Jovic at Fiorentina.
Tammy has 3 Chelsea mates with him now at Milan – Tomori, Pulisic, and RLC.
If he does well, I suspect Milan is the only team he will want to play for, although wages will be a big issue.

      1. His contract with Roma expires 2026. On transfermarkt (English version) they clearly display his loan contract with Milan expires 2025 then underneath his Roma contract expiring in 2026

Also he signed for Roma in 2021 on a 5 year contract, which would last to 2026.

  5. If anyone caught some of the inter game vs. Atalanta, look at the difference in how hard all inter 10 outfield players work when it comes to defending and pressing.
Lautaro Martinez constantly runs and presses, while our primadona acts like he is CR7 or Messi and is too good to press or track back.
Thuram played at the Euro next to Theo. Does he look tired, out of shape or lazy to anyone? 4 goals in 3 games. Scored 2 in week 1, but Theo wasn’t even ready to start in the 1st game.
If Milan wants to achieve something, their best players cannot be lazy or out of shape. They need to carry their own weight offensively and defensively. Milan gives up most of their goals thru the “best left side in Europe”.
You can deflect and blame everyone and their mother, but Milan is being let down by their top players so far this season and most of last season.

    1. Z you are perfectly right. Leao will never change. If Milan want to be were they want to be then they need to get rid of players like leao. It’s because of his lazyness that’s why top European teams don’t seriously go after him. We have good and aggressive players like pulisic, Tiji, Fofana just to mention few but are being let down by bad influence in leao. Sell him asap and get us a world-class player who plays and die for the team.

    2. I guess you never played football in competition. You need to understand that players follow the coach’s instructions on the field. Leao is the major offensive threat of this team and you can’t waste his stamina by asking him to defend. He needs to save his energy for offensive runs which are his main strength and also the main strength of the whole team. Until we have other threats on the field or good depth to rest him, it will remain like this. Pulisic is asked to defend, like Messias or Saelemaekers before him. Chukwueze is not capable to do so hence he’s still a bench player.

      1. Just stop embarrassing yourself.
Fonseca said himself that he wasn’t satisfied with the press.
The press starts with the front line not with the midfielders or defenders.
So all that gibberish you wanna spew goes out of window.
I guess it was Fonseca’s instructions for Theo to let Man score even though they were shoulder to shoulder for most of the run and theo slows down. It was Fonseca that told Theo not to run back and stop the 2nd goal.
It’s Fonseca and Pioli instructions for leao to be lazy.
Pioli screaming at Leao from the sidelines to run in your ears was him screaming at him not to run and save his energy.
Also, Milan hasn’t been leao dependent for over a year now.
When he plays for Portugal he is also instructed to be lazy, that’s why he is always the first player to be subbed around the 60th minute.

        1. Z yes theo could have done better. And yes he doesn’t seem to have that hunger to win at the moment. At the same time, we play with 9 men when cheek and musah are fielded together. They are both as useless as they come. I’d rather see a lazy theo and leao on the field than useless cheek and musah. Don’t forget we only create chances through theo, leao and puli. Take these 3 out, than who will create things.

      2. Nice comment Bart. Agree 100%. These players aren’t machines, they are humans with a limited amount of stamina. It’s a matter of how much energy do you want your best offensive player to spend on offense vs defense.

        1. Haha we can agree on something 🙂 This is why I think that Théo should be paid accordingly, he has so much stamina and is playing twice a week, that’s almost supernatural.

      3. If so why does Lautaro run twice as much as Leao per match. Messi also ran more than Leo. Well, old Giroud at 37 had more kilometers covered per match than Lea. I’m not saying that he has to play defense, but in order to be complete, he must not watch the player with the ball pass by him. This applies to everyone. Parma’s players ran 102 km, and Milan’s 101 km. You can’t win trophies without running.

        1. Stop with the Messi ran stuff. When was this? If you look at all the great offensive players, hardly any of them were known for running and tracking back on D. Not Ronaldo, Messi, Ronaldinho. Not Zlatan. They conserved their energy for when it was needed offensively. Very few that actually do both well.

          1. Why do you think that Barcelona sold Ronaldinho for a cut down price at age 28 in his prime? Because he stopped running back after he won everything.
Allegri forced Milan to get rid of Ronaldinho at age 30 because he was lazy and didn’t run. One of the greatest players of all time was playing in Brazil at 30 because he was lazy.
Also, leao isn’t a great offensive player. He is just someone who can run fast forward. 3 clear goal scoring chances missed vs Torino.
If those guys you claim didn’t run back at least they were producing 30,40 goals a season, while leao goes 6 months without scoring a goal.
So he neither runs back nor he is producing offensively.
He got to do at least 1 of those 2, don’t you think?

          2. Z If you look at his Goals and assists he is responsible for a huge part of this team’s offense. My point is that everyone is so obsessed with how much a player runs nowadays, as if players have endless amount of stamina. too much emphasis on running and not enough emphasis on skill. That’s a bigger picture view of the game today, but that’s why you don’t see people doing what Ronaldinho or Messi or Maradonna did any more. You have great athletes but not necessarily great footballers.

      4. Agree. Don’t think we would have lost the last game if our defense stayed back. But they were up too far. Back door open, the other guys walked through. When Pulisic was with Chelsea, Lampard played like this. It’s why he got fired.

    3. And many members here said Inter had a rough start of the season too, justifying our result or just make the heart slightly more content, by drawing with Genoa, without even watching the game lol.

I already said after that match Inter still doing good, still playing their particular football. While us, well, we do still play our particular self confusing football. It’s not comparable.

  6. Welcome Tammy. Good player. This transfer seems to have been done under the pressure of journalists, who wrote throughout August that Milan lacked a third striker.

  7. All I see is confusion and lack of direction because Abraham is injury prone like Morata. You believe Roma would’ve let him go if he is fit?

  8. why do we need our attackers defending when we have 4 at the back and 2 in front of them.

the first 3 loses the ball it is on the middle 3 to recover before the last 4 react.

but now my club need even we the fans to defend. i will apply for an electrical contract in san siro so i can always turn off the light whenever opponents beat our back 4 😂

    1. That shows how little you understand football or math.
Inter’s attackers are defending and they have the best defense in Italy and all of Europe. But what do they know. They should listen to cokeboi and let their attackers just walk on the pitch.
It’s a team 11v11 game, and if the fullback is attacking, guess who is supposed to cover him? The winger. If your attackers/wingers constantly allow the other team fullbacks to run past them in Milan’s half that creates numerical advantage for the other team. If they have more players than you in your own half who has the advantage genius?
This is very simple, but hey, they should follow your advise.

    2. PSG had Neymar and Mbappe and couldn’t win anything outside of France, because their attackers weren’t tracking back.
They had Neymar, Mbappe and Messi, couldn’t win because their attackers weren’t tracking back.
Real Madrid will have that problem this season, while PSG without Mbappe will have better success because they will attack and defend with 11 players.

      1. Yep.
According to The Ewing Theory, PSG should finally be able to win the Champions League now that they have gotten rid of Mbappe as well as all of their other superstars who don’t run back and help out with defense

  9. Truth be told, we have strengthened in every single department compared to last season. It’s the coach that is unknown. It’s now up to fonseca to get the best out of these players. On paper, the top 3 to me are milan, inter and juve.

I think Abraham will do well with us. He suits our style of play and he’s big and can hold up the ball.

  10. Milan Eye @MilanEye
Fonseca has decided to make several changes to Milan lineup against Lazio:
Maignan, Emerson Royal, Tomori. Pavlovic, Terracciano; Fofana, Reijnders; Chukwueze, Loftus Cheek, Pulisic, Okafor
    [@SkySport]

Look at that, Fonseca has benched the 2 prima donnas even though they were following his instructions to be lazy.
Good for you Fonseca. The other coach had no balls to do that for 5 years that’s why they act the way they do

  11. I see many people write that Abraham is prone to injuries and I went to check, that in his career he had no absences due to injuries, until he tore his ligaments in Roma. If it means he’s prone now because of the ligaments, then we have to get rid of Isma. Real Militao, Alaba and Curtoa…

  12. This was a brilliant move even if it doesn’t pay off
    1) Saele is 3rd option for every role he’d be eligible for
    2) We needed this position covered
    3) Abraham is the more valuable player of the 2, despite his poor run of form and fitness

  13. There is more to football than running. If a team controls the midfield, they don’t need to run as hard – that’s how Man City player. They’re not pressing machines. The problem is the technical quality of some of the players and a lack of cover for Theo.

  14. We have 4 strikers. It’s time to use 4312. Twin striker plus 1 central midfielder is good for attack. 4231 is bad when the wingers is lazy

    1. And the 4 wingers we have can go fûck themselves, right? Not to mention we have no proper DM or AM…
4312 only works with very specific players and we haven’t got them

  15. I hope i will wrong but for me Morata,Camarada,Okafor then Abraham, but what i know. Just look kids like Palmer,Barca kids and etc. If Camarda cant play at this Milan team then kid need left us and go at place were he start games. Not some Futuro that is embarasing for wonderkids
