AC Milan have confirmed the signing of Youssouf Fofana from Monaco, publishing an official statement on their website this afternoon. The Frenchman has thus become the fourth signing of the summer by the Rossoneri.
Fofana landed in Milano yesterday evening and this morning, he underwent the medical tests at the La Madonnina clinic. After completing these, as well as the athletic tests, he headed over to Casa Milan to sign the contract with Milan.
On their official website, Milan published a statement confirming the signing: “AC Milan is pleased to announce the signing of the permanent transfer of Youssouf Fofana from AS Monaco. The midfielder has signed a contract with the Rossoneri until 30 June 2028,” it read.
It’s believed that Milan will pay €25m including bonuses for Fofana’s services and that technical director Geoffrey Moncada was decisive in the negotiations. The midfielder has decided to wear the No.29 shirt, which was up for grabs following Lorenzo Colombo’s departure.
Fofana made 175 appearances for Monaco in all competitions, finding the back of the net seven times and assisting an additional 15 goals. He has also made 21 appearances for the French national team, scoring three goals in the process.
