Official: AC Milan terminate the contract of Ivan Strinic

By Anthony Torgrude -

Ivan Strinic’s Milan career seems to have ended before it ever truly started. The player was signed after the 2018 World Cup, but was later diagnosed with a heart condition. This has kept the player sidelined his entire tenure at Milan, outside of a few preseason minutes.

Now, the official AC Milan website has released a statement on the players feature, expressing the termination of his contract.

The statement was brief and too the point. Simply stating “AC Milan (The Club) announces the termination by mutual consent of the contract with the defender Ivan Strinic. The Club wishes the footballer every success in his future career.”

The thirty-two year old Left Back, had a successful World Cup, starting in six of Croatia’s seven fixtures leading up to their second place finish in the tournament. It was during the event that Milan signed a prearrangement with the Strinic who at the time was departing Sampdoria.

As of right now, there is no word on if the player has started contacts with a new club. Given his age and recent heart condition, retirement may be an option for Ivan as well.
