Official: AC Milan vs. Juventus starting XIs – Ibrahimovic starts for Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has decided to make just two changes to his starting XI to face Juventus from the one that beat Lazio 3-0.

The Rossoneri have won three out of their four Serie A games since the interruption of the season and are undefeated, the most recent result being a crushing 3-0 win away at Lazio in what was the capital club’s first home defeat of the season.

Continuity is the order of the day for Milan as they will line up with a back four of Andrea Conti, Simon Kjaer, Alessio Romagnoli and Theo Hernandez protecting Gianluigi Donnarumma, with Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer ahead of them in midfield.

Alexis Saelemaekers starts wide right, with Lucas Paqueta in behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ante Rebic on the left, meaning Hakan Calhanoglu hasn’t quite recovered from his injury struggles.

Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Conti, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Theo Hernandez; Bennacer, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Paqueta, Rebic; Ibrahimovic.

For the away side, two former Rossoneri players start in Leonardo Bonucci and Gonzalo Higuain but there are no surprises as Maurizio Sarri has to deal with the suspensions of Milan’s Kryptonite Paulo Dybala and also Douglas Costa.

Juventus XI (4-3-3): Szczesny; Cuadrado, Rugani, Bonucci, Danilo; Bentancur, Pjanic, Rabiot; Bernardeschi, Higuain, Cristiano Ronaldo.
