Official: All 20 Serie A teams vote in favour of resuming and completing current season

All Serie A clubs have decided to support the idea of resuming and completing the 2019-20 season whenever it is safe to do so.

This morning an assembly of all member teams of Serie A was staged via a conference-call, with representatives from all 20 clubs present to discuss the action plan regarding the resumption of football amid the COVID-19 emergency.

As stated in the official press release published a little while ago by the League itself, it seems that all of the clubs fully agree on the resumption of activities and on the possibility of regularly completing the season.

Here is the text of the press release: “The Assembly of the Serie A League met this morning and confirmed, with the unanimous vote of all twenty associated companies in video conference, the intention to complete the 2019-2020 sports season , if the Government allows it to be carried out, in full compliance with the rules for the protection of health and safety.

“The resumption of sporting activity, in the so-called Phase 2, as already highlighted in the past, will take place in accordance with the indications of FIFA and UEFA, with the decisions of the FIGC, as well as in compliance with the medical protocols to protect the players and all the professionals.”

This of course comes after a report from Calcio E Finanza on Monday night which claimed that eight clubs are against resuming the season, making it even more difficult for Lega Serie A and the FIGC.

These clubs are Parma, SPAL, Brescia, Turin, Sampdoria, Udinese, Bologna and Fiorentina – but Milan president Paolo Scaroni recently confirmed the Rossoneri’s desire to complete the current campaign.
