Suzanne Bakker has extended her contract as the head coach of AC Milan Women for one more year, as confirmed by the club this afternoon.

It ended up being a pretty disappointing season for Milan Women in 2025-26, as they finished sixth and thus missed out on the Champions League once again. Throughout the campaign, there was also heavy criticism towards Bakker, the head coach.

She joined the team in the summer of 2024 and finished fifth in the first season, followed by sixth in the second as said. Depending on what Milan actually want with the team, you could argue that isn’t good enough.

Bakker renews: Official statement

Nevertheless, as Milan believe Bakker is good when it comes to developing young players, they have opted to renew her contract. This was confirmed on the official website earlier this afternoon…

“AC Milan is delighted to announce that Suzanne Bakker has renewed her contract with the Club until 30 June 2027.

“Coach Bakker, who took charge of the Rossonere dugout in the summer of 2024, has brought professionalism, expertise and a clear playing identity, contributing to the growth of the First Team’s technical project.

“Over the course of several seasons, she has placed particular emphasis on the development of young players from the Youth Sector, supporting their integration into the First Team and helping to enhance their talent,” the statement reads.
