Official: Brescianini signs for Atalanta – why the formula doesn’t help Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Atalanta have announced the signing of Marco Brescianini from Frosinone but AC Milan will have to wait to collect any cash from their sell-on clause.

It looked as though Brescianini was all set to join Napoli a few days ago, but then the deal fell apart after he had even undergone a medical with the Partenopei as there was a late attempt to change the terms of the deal.

Atalanta swooped successfully and outbid Napoli, with widespread reports stating that the Milan academy graduate would sign a four-year contract with an option on a fifth.

The Rossoneri were also expected to benefit from this change of plans because they hold a 50% resale clause and will collect €6.5m minimum, while Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com claims that it is actually a €14m fee and therefore the revenue would be €7m.

However, Atalanta have confirmed on their official website that they have actually signed the 24-year-old on an initial loan deal which includes an option to buy which becomes an obligation to make it permanent under certain conditions.

That means that Milan will not be owed any money this summer from the deal, and must hope that the obligation clause is triggered if they are to pocket anything.

    1. More like Fu*king bastards, I blame this management for allowing Atalanta to renew CDK loan instead of selling out rightly to the highest bidder. Now they are dealing with us at all fronts in the transfer market.

They have managed to rebuild thier team without heavy spending and at out expense somewhat.

      1. It was not loan again, but in CDK situation his loan option continues, untill one year, so purchase will be seen on balance in 2 years on

  1. It seems we are the only team in Italy who actually pass for our players nowadays 🤣

I remember like 10 years ago when other teams fans mocked us and called us AC Miloan 🤭

    How Times change…

  2. They pretend to buy players in Italy on loan and buy completely from Everton and other teams. With this Sense they will be punished soon
