Official: AC Milan announce Calabria has recovered from Covid and will return to training

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have announced that Davide Calabria has tested negative for Covid-19 and will return to training tomorrow ahead of Monday’s game against Spezia.

Calabria was one of three defenders to test positive for the virus around the same time as Fikayo Tomori and Alessio Romagnoli also contracted it, forcing them to miss the first two league games of the year with Alessandro Florenzi filling in at right-back and Pierre Kalulu shifting to centre-back.

Tomori returned to the starting XI against Genoa but did not last long before pulling up injured, and MilanNews are reporting that he suffered a medial meniscus injury to his left knee during last night’s game and it is one that requires surgery.

There is good news about Calabria though, as a statement on the club’s official website has confirmed that the full-abck tested negative for Covid-19. The player has recovered and will be at the staff’s disposal from tomorrow.
