The Coppa Italia bracket has been drawn up for the 2026-27 season and AC Milan are on the same side as Inter again.
As is the case every year, the cup bracket comes out not long after the Serie A fixtures have been released. Unlike other countries like England where a draw is done for each round, in Italy the tournament is a tennis-like system of seedings and brackets.

The top seeds are the teams who finished in the first eight places in Serie A the previous season, which means Inter, Napoli, Roma, Como, Milan, Juventus, Atalanta and Bologna in this case. Those sides won’t enter until the round of 16, with their fixtures automatically on home turf.
There are 44 teams going into the competition: all 20 from Serie A and all 20 from Serie B, plus four teams from Lega Pro that make it through.
What stands out is that Inter-Bologna and Como-Milan on one side, Roma-Juventus and Napoli-Atalanta on the other.
Milan’s fate
Looking more specifically at Milan’s path, their position in the bracket means that they will play the winners of Lecce/Palermo vs. Torino/Carrarese in the last 16.
If the Rossoneri win that, it would set up a quarter-final meet potentially with Bologna or Lazio. Then, the prospect of a semi-final derby against Inter for what would be the second time in three years stands out.
However, crashing out to Lazio in the round of 16 at the Stadio Olimpico this season shows that nothing can be taken for granted in the cup, something Milan haven’t won for over 20 years now.
