Official: Date and time confirmed for Milan’s Coppa Italia clash vs. Genoa

By Isak Möller -

Milan may have been knocked out of the Champions League but will soon get another shot at a knockout stage. In fact, at the start of January, the Rossoneri will face Genoa in the Round of 16 of Coppa Italia.

Stefano Pioli’s men have struggled a bit lately, most recently drawing against Udinese, and it’s clear the many injuries are starting to take their toll. In that sense, perhaps, the addition of another competition isn’t good.

On the other hand, it’s a fun little tournament that Milan haven’t won since the 2002/2003 season. In the Round of 16, they will face Genoa and it’s been confirmed that it will take place on January 13 at 21:00 CET.

For now, though, Milan will have to be focused on the two remaining games of the year, with Napoli up next. It won’t be easy but a win could be extremely important for the Rossoneri not just for the standings, but also confidence-wise.
