AC Milan Primavera knocked out Real Madrid in the UEFA Youth League quarter-finals and will face Porto next. As confirmed by UEFA earlier today, the semi-final will be played in one month, giving the Rossoneri plenty of time to prepare.
It was a thrilling contest as Milan sealed their spot in the Youth League semi-finals, knocking out Real Madrid after penalties. For the first time in their history, the Milan Primavera has reached the semi-final in two consecutive seasons, having reached it for the first time last season.
As confirmed by UEFA this afternoon, and relayed by Milan, the semi-final against Porto will be played on April 19 at 18:00 CEST (a Friday). Both semi-finals – as well as the final – will be played on neutral ground, more specifically the Centre Sportif de Colovray in Nyon, Switzerland.
The final has been scheduled for April 22 at 18:00 CEST (a Monday) and it remains to be seen if Ignazio Abate’s boys will make it that far. They have certainly impressed in the Youth League this season but that was also the case last year. Then, mistakes in the semi-final cost them dearly.
Abate and his players are out for revenge, in other words, and reaching the final would certainly show great progress.
