Official: Davide Bartesaghi signs contract renewal with AC Milan until 2026

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have officially announced that Davide Bartesaghi has renewed his contract with the club, signing his first professional deal.

After the reports circulating in the media over the past few days, the official club website have announced that Bartesaghi has signed his first professional contract, which will run until June 2026.

Bartesaghi is a Primavera graduate who took part in the preseason tour of the United States with the senior side, showing just how highly rated he is by Stefano Pioli and his staff.

It has been a memorable last couple of weeks for the teenager, who made his Serie A debut during the home win against Hellas Verona at San Siro on September 23rd.

He also came off the bench during the 3-1 victory against Cagliari last midweek too. Thus far, he has been playing mostly as a left-back but during the summer friendlies he also slotted in at centre-back.

  1. Would be nice if he developed to become a solid 1st team player, maybe at LCB, in the next 5 years. Same also with Simic (CB) and Camarda (striker)

We finally have some talent in primavera.

  2. I’m not convinced he’s ready, but hopefully it won’t cost us points if/when he plays. I also think that in defense, Thiaw is not as solid as what some people think he is.

Let’s not mix talent and capability, Bartesaghi is obviously talented, but he might cost us points until he grows to a consistent level. At the moment, he’s more of a third-goalkeeper type of player (better than nothing but not really that good to start even against bottom teams). I wonder if Juan Miranda comes in January whether he’ll get loaned to a Serie A team or drop to Serie B level.

    1. I agree about Thiaw. Against inter, he pretty much lost every single dual against Thuram.
He’s a good defender sure, but not yet that great.
