Marco Di Bello will officiate the game between AC Milan and Fiorentina this weekend, as confirmed by AIA The 42-year-old has been in charge of several Rossoneri games, with an overall positive record.
AIA, the referees’ association in Italy, confirmed that Di Bello will officiate Milan’s clash against Fiorentina on Saturday. It’s worth noting that he officiated the last encounter between the two sides, which La Viola won by two goals to one.
Overall, Di Bello has been in charge of 16 Milan games in his career: 10 wins, 2 draws and 4 defeats for the Rossoneri. Although the overall record is positive, there was great controversy in another game which took place last season.
It was the clash between Bologna and Milan, which finished 1-1 after Tommaso Pobega scored a screamer to bring the Rossoneri level. The Rossoblu’s goal, however, should have been ruled out for a foul and Milan then should have had two penalties.
Di Bello was not the on-field referee for that game, but he was in charge of VAR and didn’t do his job properly in those instances. Milan will be hoping for a better display from him this time out, therefore, as he will be assisted by VAR referee Paolo Mazzoleni.
It’s official, we would be robbed when a just decision is to be made
