The announcement has been made regarding who will officiate the game between Sampdoria and AC Milan on Saturday night at the Marassi.
As our colleagues at SempreMilan.it report, the AIA have appointed Micheal Fabbri as the referee for the match in Genoa, with Liberti and Del Giovane as his assistances. The fourth official will be Massa, while the VAR chief is Abisso and his assistant is Longo.
Fabbri has refereed 8 Milan matches before with 4 wins, 2 draws and as many defeats for the Rossoneri in the previous games, the last of which was the 2-2 draw last season against Salernitana. In the 16 games Fabbri has refereed for them, Sampdoria have won 7 times, with 3 draws and 6 defeats.
Many will remembered the game back in April 2019 when the Rossoneri – then coached by Gennaro Gattuso – faced Juventus in Torino and did not get a penalty for a handball from Alex Sandro on Hakan Calhanoglu’s cross in the first half despite being called over for VAR.
The on 87 minutes there was the failure to send Mario Mandzukic off who had already been booked and kicked Alessio Romagnoli in the Juventus area. It would have been a red card and a penalty kick, but the result was 2-1 for Juve.
