On Sunday, AC Milan announced that Guðný Árnadóttir had officially signed for the team. This confirms earlier reports that Árnadóttir was on the verge of signing for Milan.
The 20-year-old defender has completed her quarantine period and will play for Napoli Femminile for the rest of the season.
The defender comes to Milan from the Icelandic league (the Úrvalsdeild kvenna). The player has played a total of 16 matches in the team for her former team, Valur. She has also played two qualifying matches for the Icelandic national team, including playing for 96 minutes against Ukraine.
The defender brings with her both the vitality of youth and experience at the highest level, and should be a strong reinforcement to Milan’s defence next season.
