Verona-Milan XIs

Official: Hellas Verona vs. AC Milan starting XIs – Jimenez and Terracciano start

AC Milan are up against Hellas Verona this evening and just a few minutes ago, Paulo Fonseca named his starting XI for the clash. As expected, Alex Jimenez and Filippo Terracciano are playing from start.

Compared to the 0-0 draw against Genoa, Fonseca has made one change to the XI by bringing in Terracciano from start. He has also moved Tijjani Reijnders to the No.10 position, instead of the usual role in the midfield tandem.

There are some notable absences, including Yunus Musah, Christian Pulisic and Alvaro Morata. The latter is battling tonsillitis and it remains to be seen when he will be back, but most likely for the game against Roma after Christmas.

It will be very interesting to see this XI in action, above all Jimenez and Terracciano. Fonseca has certainly lived up to his words about relying on youngsters.

Official Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Emerson Royal, Gabbia, Thiaw, Jimenez; Fofana, Terracciano; Chukwueze, Reijnders, Leao; Camarda.

Bench: Sportiello, Raveyre, Calabria, Tomori, Pavlovic, Theo Hernandez, Liberali, Zeroli, Camarda.

Official Verona XI (3-5-2): Montipò; Dawidowicz, Coppola, Ghilardi; Tchatchoua, Belahyane, Duda, Kastanos, Lazovic; Suslov; Sarr.

Bench: Perilli, Magro, Daniliuc, Faraoni, Tengstedt, Bradaric, Livramento, Dani Silva, Magnani, Serdar, Alidou, Mosquera, Cisse, Corradi.

    1. He needs to get a chance at DM as it might his most natural position. The kid deserves to see more minutes, before we start experimenting with libareli and other futuro ideas

      1. You are absolutely correct! He’s a natural DM/destroyer. That’s his real position. He will do well I’m sure! 100% on God

        1. Yes aften playing less than %20 of his career minutes in DM that’s somehow he’s natural role. He barely could control a ball at fullback let alone in the centre. He may win some physical battles but that will be about it mate

      2. I agree with him having to be given a chance. But at fullback. I see him struggling in midfield. He lack ball control skills and composure which are important for any midfielder roles.

          1. He’s doing enough so far. Doesn’t necessarily mean much regarding his expected level. We are playing Verona and aside Chuk Royal and Reijnders (was playing poorly despite scoring) everyone else are at least maintaining an ok performance. I’ve to say I like the fact that Terra is a communicator. He’s looking around a lot and talking to his teammates about spaces to occupy and pass to.

    2. Or Zeroli, who is on the bench?

Terracciano is clueless in any position, with low football IQ and very limited skills; I don’t understand why this guy still wears Milan’s jersey. I think with Emerson’s good display last game, one can arguably say that Terracciano is the worst Milan player on the active roster (that is, not counting Origi),

      1. For me, one futuro teenager is (literally) more than enough. We are supposed to be a serious team, not a youth project. Let’s see, maybe Terraccciano can find his place in this role. At the very least he can help with some physicalty.

      2. You must own an Emerson jersey for the amount of excuses you try to make for him every day. He’s the worst player at the club buddy. Get over it

    3. You can cry all you want but this is what Fonseca was handed to make the best of, Even Capello reported that he had no input in the market, Zlatan and co just did what they wanted in the market, and look how well guys like Pobega are doing, he’s playing great at Bologna.

  1. 28 % are mlan chances to reach fifth position this year, after genao debacle.

probable they all know what they going to do in next season.

  2. I like this formation, except Theo should play instead of Jimenez. Terachiano is our currently best available partner for Fofana, if we want power Reijnders to play AM, which we do since Pulisic is out.

  3. I wouldn’t bet any money on a result as we can easily both win and lose this match even if we are still big favorites regardless of our current shambolic form.
We better get a win though and one that at least instill a minute form of hope into the fans.

  4. Really find it appalling that a bunch of rescue puppies is dragged into a stadium full of people and noise, Good initiative to create awareness but not the right way to go about it.
    They are cute though.

  5. I’m fine seeing Terra actually move closer to his actual position but could we not have Theo on the left and Jimenez on his natural right side? How does Emerson keep starting games? He literally serves no purpose but to be a traffic cone

    1. He just got a yellow card so my guess is that it will happen at the start of the second half if he can manage to not get another in the meantime.

    2. Of all the rb in the world they buy a walking trash bag..
Baffling, even more so when you consider there is a player like jimenez waiting for his opportunity

  6. Once we had a fair claim to having the best left wing in Europe.
Now I think it is fair to say we have the worst right wing.
It is just incredible how bad they are!! Not even serie B level.

    1. Idk why we keep attacking down the right.
Our big cannons for the last 4 years were on the left.
Shouldn’t you make those you main threat?

    2. You say that now, then we get an actual Serie B winger in, not Berardi, then you will say another thing, people called Pobega Serie B level yet he’s always done great away from us. They’re not as bad as Suso and Honda.

  7. Leao going off injured without a good replacement and Terra playing midfield shows just how poorly our team was built. I can’t even blame Fonseca. This management is trash. Smh

  8. Emerson is without a doubt the worst player I’ve ever seen. His positioning is dreadful. His passing is terrible. I’ve noticed no one really passes to him because it will end up going back. God I miss Sale. Why not Jimenez on right and Theo left. Hell I even miss Krunic!!! He was better there too haha!!

      1. Calabria’s injuries caught up to him, he was more than serviceable before. One of our better youth products. Way better than what Abate was defensively.

    1. Had mentioned the other day how close Chuk has to be to Emerson just to cover his defensive frailties. It just nullifies Chuck’s offense. Just put in a capable defender on the right ie anyone not named Emerson and solve your own problem Fonz
Anyways only a half more of this nonsense left. However I don’t trust management to get a proper replacement either

  9. The way our players don’t know what to do with the ball and waste a lot of time turning around when controlling the ball blows my mind. We are really terrible, super slow af and can’t create anything to save our lives. We can’t even cross the freaking ball it’s insane. Smh

  10. Chuk needs to go. That was an easy pass that he should have made for Tammy. Worst player by far. Either put Okafor and switch him with Jimenez so Okafor will be on his favotite left side, or maybe even put Liberali instead of Chuk as RW. Anything at this point.

  11. YOU CANNOT BREAKDOWN A HIGH BLOCK TEAM BY PASSING THE BALL BACK TO YOUR GK AND STANDING AROUND AND WAITING FOR THE TEAM TO GIVE YOU SPACE YOU HAVE TO PRESSURE THE TEAM CONSTANTLY TILL THEY BREAKDOWN. WTF ARE WE DOING!

    1. What do you expect with an 11 on the pitch that is the equivalent to a mid-table team?

      Maignan
      Royal-Thiaw-Gabbia-Hernandez
      Fofana-Terraciano
      Chukwueze-Reijners-Jimenez
      Abraham

That is our lineup right now. Only 5 are worthy of the shirt, and 1 of those 5 (Theo) is not even fully there. Honestly, not that much more we can do. I’m actually happy we’re not losing.

  12. 4 not 5, Reijnders, Fofana, Maignan and Theo and that’s it. The youngster needs room to grow, but in any case you need those players too, without Brocchi, Simic, Pancaro and Laursen we wouldn’t have won our ONLY Scudetto under Ancelotti.

    1. I was including Gabbia, who I think it quite decent. And if Thiaw keeps playing for the rest of the season as he has been for the last month, I’d include him as a keeper too. The “Brocchi, Simic, Pancaro and Laursen” types you mention are useful, sure, but as bench players, not starters, of which we have 4-5 starting/playing in this game at the moment. And remember we’ve been playing teams like Genoa and Verona. Can’t wait to play one of the top 6 sides with this kind of lineup…

    1. The way you people disrespect Calabria is just pure crap. The reason he’s the way he is, is because of giving everything for the club for years. Then you have guys like you and flyingturtle who knows less than nothing about football coming in with the disrespect, would you have said the same about Paolo, George Weah and the rest when they finished 10th and 11th in the league, because that did happen, you talk too much, even our squad with Ancelotti only won 1 Scudetto. Don’t see you saying that about Ancelotti and that squad.

      1. Relax, I was criticizing the the lock-down, which in the end it wasn’t because I hadn’t realized it was defender for defender. I thought it was Jimenez coming off.

    2. The same type of “intelligence” as people who call Trent Alexander Arnold a good right back when he defends even worse than Emerson

  13. Such a sad state of affairs for this Milan team…86min and one forced sub and a defender. I’m not blaming Fonseca because we knew he was below average before he joined. He hasn’t done anything different. This club is being managed into the ground by the idiots in charge

  14. Imagine spending all that money to buy a club only to have it mismanaged and slowly fall off.

If I was cardinale heads would roll
