Official: Ibrahimovic and Inter’s Lukaku handed one-match ban after altercation

By Oliver Fisher -

It has been confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku will both be suspended for one game for their part in Tuesday’s altercation.

As MilanNews reports, the expected response from the Sporting Judge has arrived after the events of the Coppa Italia match between Inter and Milan.

Ibrahimovic will be disqualified for one game as he received a double yellow card for ‘non-regulatory behaviour on the pitch and for misconduct against an opponent’. Lukaku gets the same, as he will be suspended for unregulated behaviour on the field, and he had already been cautioned in the previous round.

Franck Kessie will also miss one game, as he was booked for protests against Inter having already been given a yellow in the game against Torino. In the Coppa Italia, two bookings warrants a suspension. All players will serve their bans in the 2021-22 edition of the competition and not in the league.
