Official: Inter vs. AC Milan starting XIs – Calabria back in as the only change

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has made one change to his starting line-up from the team that beat Genoa on Friday night for tonight’s Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Inter.

Davide Calabria was forced to miss the 2-0 win over the Grifone at San Siro due to an intestinal problem and a fever which meant Matteo Gabbia came in at centre-back and Pierre Kalulu shifted across, but Calabria is back with the captain’s armband joining Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez in defence in front of Mike Maignan.

Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer are once again united as the double pivot but Franck Kessie will keep his place in the starting line-up as he is preferred to Brahim Diaz.

Alexis Saelemaekers keeps his place on the right wing despite Junior Messias’ goal off the bench to clinch the victory over Genoa, with Rafael Leao on the left wing behind the centre-forward Olivier Giroud who was the hero in the league derby in February.

Official Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, Kessie, Leao; Giroud.

Bench: Mirante, Tătăruşanu; Ballo-Touré, Gabbia; Bakayoko, Castillejo, Díaz, Krunić, Messias; Lazetić, Rebić.

Official Inter XI (3-5-2): Handanovič; Škriniar, de Vrij, Batons; Darmian, Barella, Brozović, Çalhanoğlu, Perišić; Correa, Martínez.

Bench: Radu; D’Ambrosio, Dimarco, Dumfries, Ranocchia; Gagliardini, Gosens, Vecino, Vidal; Caicedo, Džeko, Sánchez.
