Official: Ismael Bennacer extends contract with AC Milan until 2027

AC Milan have officially announced that Ismael Bennacer has extended his contract with the club by a further three years.

A statement on the club’s official website confirms that Bennacer has extended his contract with Milan until 30 June 2027, with the previous deadline having been set for June 2024.

Bennacer arrived at Milan from Empoli in 2019 and has made 129 appearances, scoring four goals, establishing himself as a central pillar of the midfield under Stefano Pioli.

The 25-year-old was a key part of the Scudetto-winning side last season, forming a double pivot with either Sandro Tonali or Franck Kessie, and this year he has establishing a formidable pairing with the former given the Ivorian’s exit.

OptaPaolo show just how important Bennacer is to Milan as they revealed that this season – when factoring in all competitions – the Algerian is the player with the most games played (24, level with Kalulu), touches (1507), tackles (66), recoveries (191) and duels won (125).
