AC Milan have announced that Kyle Walker has sustained a problem with his right elbow and has undergone surgery on it.

It looked as though Milan were getting back towards having a clean bill of health with only Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Emerson Royal currently in the treatment room. However, the news came late last night that Walker has suffered a problem with his elbow and needed an operation.

The official website state: “AC Milan can confirm that Kyle Walker sustained a fracture in his right elbow today. To ensure better healing and optimise recovery time, the player underwent surgery in Milan to repair the olecranon through osteosynthesis. The operation went perfectly to plan. Kyle will begin rehabilitation immediately.”

It will be interesting to see what this means for the full-back’s chances of making his loan move a permanent one, a decision that Milan will have to make between now and the end of the season.

It was recently reported by the reliable Matteo Moretto that the Rossoneri leadership have two major doubts about the idea of signing Walker permanently. The first is his age, given that he is now 34 years old, and the second is the high salary that comes with that.

    1. The royal Royal will share the blame for Theo so the Frenchman doesn’t need to feel like the worst on the pitch anymore (when Musah isn’t around that is).

They have a few more matches to settle which is the worst defender in the league.

      1. Yeah but Theo at least managed to do what an attacking fullback is supposed to with 3 goals and 6 assists in all competitions.

His Royal Highness is too royal to put any kind of effort into any aspect of the game be it defensive or offensive. He has Puli and Fofana as his peasants doing his duties.

        1. What are you on about? Royal certainly has lapses and positional issues that will need coaching to address (if they can be at all) and he’s no Theo in terms of attacking production but he covered huge distances the matches he played, you can’t fault his effort from a point of view of covering ground.

          1. You know, there’s a saying – One must beware of anyone who is both hardworking and stup*d. They will work hard but only do damage.

He makes me miss Armero, Mesbah and Constant. All three at once. In a starting eleven.
