Official: Lazio vs. AC Milan starting XIs – two changes to the defence

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has made two changes to the starting line-up that will face Lazio compared to the team that lost the Supercoppa Italiana to Inter.

Ciprian Tatarusani will be in goal again given Mike Maignan’s injury with captain Davide Calabria joined by the centre-back pairing of Pierre Kalulu and Fikayo Tomori, the former coming back in for Simon Kjaer. Theo Hernandez has muscle fatigue, so Sergino Dest starts at left-back.

The midfield double pivot will be composed of Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer, with Brahim Diaz ahead of them as the central attacking midfielder over Charles De Ketelaere who starts on the bench.

Junior Messias and Rafael Leao will occupy the right and left wings respectively, with Olivier Giroud once against tipped to lead the line, looking for his first goal of 2023.
